Launch of the Fifth Edition of "Molecular Biology of The Cell"

A group of experts, including Tim Hunt (Nobel Prize in Medicine, 2011 thanks to his research in the control mechanisms in cellular division), Bruce Alberts (a main author of "The Cell"), and Peter Walter (the Dean of the Department of Biochemistry at UCSF), were invited by the Genomica Foundation, the Fundacion Ciencia y Vida, and the EcoScience Foundation to the Chilean territory in Antartica. They were able to visit the researchers working in Antartica with the Chilean Armed Forces, and they were introduced to the international scientific community. This book launch was held as a promotion to science education and its development in South America.
