The EcoScience Foundation was one of the sponsors of the documentary project called National Science Award Recipients in Biology and Applied Biotechnology for students and teachers of high school and universities.
This is a set of documentaries that tell the story of Chilean science through the biographical stories of its main scientists and developers.
This collection was advertised with the help of the Ministry of Education, the Conicyt Explora Program, the following TV channels: TV Cable (Senado, Diputados, ARTV, otros), and the Internet (Alejandría, Canal Eureka, FCV, etc.).

2. The Force of the Universe
This project was created as a contribution to the development and education in science through a high-quality entertaining and educational work. It is a documentary series called "The Force of the Universe" made up of four 26-minute chapters. It was created by the Eureka Program of the Fundación Ciencia y Vida, the EcoScience Foundation, CNTV, and Novasur, with the help of Imago Comunicaciones.

Desctipion of each chapter:
WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF THE STARS,
María Teresa Ruiz, PhD
The episode describes how stars are born, how they evolve, and how they die in a general and colloquial way. It describes the birth of stars and the forces of balance that are present during the evolution of stars, as well as certain physical characteristics that can be seen during the birth, such as the temperature reached. It talks about how the chemical elements we know today are created inside stars. The show mentions certain types of stars, such as white dwarfs, red giants, and brown dwarfs. In it, astronomer Maria Teresa Ruiz, PhD, makes an argument about why life was first created in stars and therefore, we are all children of the stars.
SUPERNOVAS, BEACONS OF THE UNIVERSE,
José Maza, PhD and Alejandro Clocchiatti, PhD
This episode describes the contribution that Latin American astronomers made to the discovery of the expansion of the universe. The scientists tell the story about the Calan-Tololo project in which they carried out the research that allowed for the conclusion that the universe is expanding in an accelerated manner. Through graphs and animations, the episode describes the method used by these scientists to come to their discovery. Their study of supernovas was fundamental in the research, and this is explored in the show.
GALAXY HUNTERS,
Sebastián López, PhD and Felipe Barrientos, PhD
In this episode, the scientists describe general aspects of galaxies and the universe. They describe the breadth of their research, mostly carried out in the Geminis Observatory. They describe what galaxies are, their main characteristics, their origin and evolution, the different types of galaxies that exist, and the role black holes play in their formation.
LOOKING FOR LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE
José Gallardo and Claudio Cáceres.
In this episode, two young astronomers carry out their investigation concerning the search for extrasolar planets. The unique conditions offered by Chile to the development of astronomy has allowed these scientists to create two innovative methods for detecting extrasolar planets at the Cerro Paranal Observatory (VLT). What were the results of their search? How do extrasolar planets form? Is there life outside our Solar System? These are some of the questions that this excellent documentary will answer.
